The debut release from Birmingham indie rock band The Reverters, Woke is a double A-side that turns argument into anthem.

Produced by Miguel de Seco at Robannas Studios, the EP was inspired by a real debate between bandmates about cultural appropriation and music’s role in it. The songs respond to each other — Chris’s satirical “Woke as Fuck” challenges moral absolutism, while James’s “You’re Wrong” defends ethical conviction with empathy.

What emerges is more than music: it’s a call for open dialogue, mutual respect, and the kind of nuanced debate that’s getting lost in online culture.
